i applied for the maternity grant on 30th june before my daughter turned 3 months.. I got declined though as i was not recieving income support i was still waiting to hear about this claim , after recieving the letter saying i wasnt entitled to it i got a letter from job centre saying they would pay me from the 28th june therefore i should have got the grant? I sent a letter to them telling them all this but i never heard back from them. My daughter is 9 months now and i am 7 months pregnant with my second baby so 500 would come in handy right now. Do you think if i told them this they would give me the grant?

Taking maternity leave?
Hello I was wondering when would be a good time to take maternity leave? My boss does not have a problem with me taking maternity leave, im just trying to figure out when i should take it? im due july 8th and was thinking about taking my leave in the middile of may and coming back middle of august. Is that too long?

Doctors note in order to take FMLA while you are on maternity leave ?
I believe my job is trying to stop me from taking FMLA leave which is 12 weeks long when I go on maternity leave even though I am qualified . I have been with the company for a year and it's a large company . I am due in March. I called Human Resources and she told me when taking FMLA I have to get a note from my doctor stating how long he thinks I should be out. Well if FMLA can't be denied if you're qualified and my doctor only writes me for the standard 6 weeks how will that work ? I told my husband if they try to force me to only take the standard 6 week maternity leave when I'm qualified for FMLA that I was not going back to work . There is no way I'm leaving my child at 6 weeks I'm a first time mom to and no job is more important than my child. I live in the state of Florida. Has anyone ever heard of having to provide a doctors note in order to take FMLA leave? I definitely dont want to go through this stress my last couple of months of pregnancy Thanks all.

Advice on maternity and SMP pay. X?
Im due to leave work early march to have my little girl. As this is my first child i am very unsure of a few things.When they say u can have up to 12 months maternity leave, does this mean u get SMP for 12 months or does it stop after the 9 months. My employer says they only pay u so much wages percent up untill 9 months and then it stops but u can have a further 3 months off. Do u still recieve basic SMP in these 3 months?

ASOS is like a bit too...well like your going clubbing I just want some nice things to wear in the office and on weekends.
